GATE 2025 Application Form: The GATE 2025 registration process will close on September 26, 2024, without any late fee, as per IIT Roorkee. Candidates interested in pursuing M.Tech or PhD programs can apply by visiting the official GATE 2025 website. Late applications will be allowed until October 7, 2024, inviting an extra cost for students who missed the deadline for registration. Application for the examination is solely online; it involves registration, completion of the exam and personal information form, submission of required documents and the payment of the application fee. Following the completion of this process, a correction window for the GATE 2025 application form will be available from November 6, 2024.

The GATE 2025 exam, conducted by IIT Roorkee, is scheduled for February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025, with two sessions per day—morning and afternoon. The specific exam dates of the branches of GATE will be released shortly on the official website. IIT Roorkee has published the GATE 2025 eligibility criteria on its official website. These criteria include details on age requirements, nationality, relaxations, and educational qualifications. Below are the general eligibility requirements for candidates planning to submit the GATE 2025 application form.

Documents Required for GATE 2025 Application Form

Documents that candidates have to upload while registering for GATE 2025 are also mentioned in the same or another article. These documents should be typed, well written, and in the correct format provided.   • Photographs of the candidate, taken from a digital camera, printed, and the quality of the image must be as listed above.

  • Candidates must upload scanned copies of their Educational Degree Certificate, Provisional Certificate, or certificate from the Head of the Department / Institute.
  • If applicable, candidates must submit a scanned copy of their Category (SC/ST) certificate in PDF format, issued by authorized officers as outlined in the official GATE 2025 notification.
  • Candidates need to provide one of the following valid Photo Identity Documents (IDs).
  • PwD candidates must upload their PwD certificates and specify any scribe requirements.
  • Dyslexic candidates must upload their Certificate of Dyslexic Condition and indicate their scribe requirements.

Photograph Requirements:

  • A recent colour photograph with a white background, where the candidate's face should occupy 60-70% of the image area.
  • Dimensions: 3.5 cm wide × 4.5 cm high, with a file size ranging from 5 KB to 1 MB.
  • Format: JPG/JPEG with a resolution between 200 x 260 pixels and 530 x 690 pixels.
  • The face must be unobstructed by objects such as hats, sunglasses, or coloured glasses, except for religious reasons.

Signature Requirements:

  • The signature should be in black or dark blue ink, covering 70-80% of the image area.
  • Dimensions: 1 cm wide × 2.75 cm high to 1 cm wide × 3.75 cm high, with a file size between 3 KB and 1 MB.
  • Format: JPG/JPEG with a resolution between 250 × 80 pixels and 580 × 180 pixels.
  • The uploaded signature must match the one used during the examination; discrepancies may lead to disqualification.

Educational Document Requirements:

  • The format for the Original/Passing Degree is outlined in Appendix A of the Information Brochure.
  • The certificate must be in PDF format and should not exceed 300 KB or be as small as 10 KB.
  • The ID that is acceptable is an Aadhaar-UID or Aadhaar Virtual ID or Government ID OR Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, or Driving Licence.
  • All the original ID proof must be produced on the exam day along with the GATE 2025 Admit card.
  • On the photo ID, the candidate’s name should be printed, followed by the photo, ID number, and date of birth as well.
  • Applicants need to produce any government-authorised PwD category certificate that is issued within three years.
  • Services will be given to persons with a benchmark disability, which means a person is at least forty percent (40%) impaired, however, this is the type of impairment.

Photo ID Requirements:

  • Valid photo IDs include Aadhaar-UID, Aadhaar Virtual ID, Government ID, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, or Driving License.
  • On the exam day, bring the original ID proof along with the GATE 2025 Admit Card.
  • The photo ID must clearly display the name, photo, ID number, and date of birth.

SIGNATURE REQUIREMENTS

  • The candidate’s signature should be written using black or dark blue color, and usually should comprise not less than 70-80% of the entire image space.
  • The signature dimensions should be from 1 cm connexion 2,75 cm of height to 1 cm connexion 3,75 cm of height, and the file size should be from 3KB to 1MB at most.
  • It must be uploaded in JPG or JPEG format, with a pixel resolution ranging from a minimum of 250 × 80 pixels to a maximum of 580 × 180 pixels.
  • Candidates must ensure that the uploaded signature matches the one used at the time of the examination; otherwise, they will be disqualified.

EDUCATIONAL DOCUMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • The Original/Passing Degree format is outlined in the Information Brochure Appendix A.
  • The certificate must be in PDF format, having a file size between 10 KB – 300 KB.
  • Permitted proof documents include Aadhaar—UID or Virtual Aadhaar ID, Government Photo ID, or any of the ten photo ID cards, such as a Passport, PAN card, Voters ID, or Driver’s license.
  • During the actual examination, a candidate is required to produce a photo identity card/first sûchôh along with the GATE 2025 Admit Card.
  • It must contain the candidate's name, photo, ID number and date of birth on the photo ID.
  • The candidates are required to submit valid photograph IDs that must be a government-authorized PwD category certificate issued within the last two years.
  • Benefits will be extended to individuals with benchmark disabilities, defined as having at least 40% impairment, regardless of the type of disability.

DYSLEXIA CERTIFICATE FOR GATE Registrations 2025

Candidates can obtain a Dyslexia Certificate from any Dyslexia Association. Some examples include:

Scribe Specifications:

  • The scribe must be a GATE 2025 candidate and should have educational qualifications at the minimum eligibility criteria for GATE.
  • A panel of scribes will be available at the exam centre for candidates to choose from.
  • Candidates using a scribe will be granted an additional 1 hour of compensatory time if their writing abilities are limited.

GATE 2025 Application Form Fees

The application fee can be paid through net banking, credit card, debit card, or through the unified payment interface. For general candidates, the registration fee is INR 1800 if no late fee is applicable, and for those with a late fee, the registration fee is INR 2300. Kindly note the availability of other transaction based fees for carrying out online transactions as indicated in the payment options page. The GATE 2025 registration fee is also non-refundable unless it is for a particular combination that is withdrawn by the GATE conducting authority.

The application fee for GATE 2025 varies for general and reserved/female category candidates. Below are the fee details for different categories, along with the late fee charges for GATE 2025.

Any candidate should understand that the stated application fee doesn’t include subsequent service charges, the processing fee, or any other fee the bank charges. The registration fee for two test papers shall be twice the registration fee for a single paper.

The payment of the application fee for GATE 2025 must be deposited online only through net banking, credit cards, debit cards, and UPI. The fee amount will be indicated on the payment processing page, which the candidates will be required to read and agree with before payment is completed. Having done this, candidates will be automatically redirected to the application form portal after the payment has been confirmed; the candidates can also download their GATE examination form in PDF copy.

Prospective payers to the ACE website are encouraged to ensure that they have an active internet connection before proceeding to the payment process. If there are any concerns with respect to a bad connection or any creases, the candidates are requested to check the transaction status through the bank account. Then, after some time, they can log in to see the payment status of the GATE application form, for any issues related to payment failure, candidates can contact by phone: 8037097019 and by email id [email protected].

Once the payment is approved, the candidate will be able to download this application form. If the payment is not received, then a new payment process starts again. Should the amount be deducted from the bank account without a payment acknowledgement, the same amount will be returned back to the account within 15 days. Candidates are advised to make payments as early as possible to prevent any inconveniences during the last few days.

GATE 2025 Application Form Process

GATE applicants must visit the GOAPs portal on the official website at gate2025.iitr.ac.in to apply. The registration link for GATE 2025 is now active. Candidates can submit their application form until September 26, 2024, without incurring a late fee and until October 7, 2024, with a late payment. The portal provides various functionalities for students, including filling out the GATE 2025 exam application form, uploading required documents, paying the application fee, checking the application status, and downloading the admit card, rank, or score card. It is essential to adhere to the guidelines and instructions provided by the GATE conducting authorities to ensure a smooth application submission process.

Here is a step-by-step GATE 2025 application form guideline that the candidates must follow -

Step I: Registration

The first step in the application process is registration. Candidates must visit goaps.iitr.ac.in to register for GATE 2025 by providing their full name, date of birth, valid email ID, and mobile number and then creating a password. All communication regarding the GATE exam will be sent to the provided contact details.

After completing the registration, candidates will receive a GATE enrollment ID, which will serve as a reference for all future communications about the exam. During this stage, candidates must also create a unique GATE 2025 password, consisting of 8 to 15 characters, which will be used for logging in.

Step II: Filling the GATE Application Form

After that, candidates may complete the application form for registration As soon as the registration is done, the candidates may fill the application form. It is essential to give correct information since all the application processes have to be processed online by the student himself. The following details are required:

  • Personal Information: This includes the candidate's name, date of birth, mobile number, parent's name, and parent's mobile number. All information must match that on a valid photo ID. Candidates should avoid using any prefixes or titles such as Mr., Dr., Mrs., etc.
  • Communication Details: Complete address, including the Pincode.
  • Educational Qualifications: Information about schools attended and graduation degree, along with the college name and address.
  • GATE Exam Details: Choice of test papers in GATE and choice of exam cities.
  • Photograph and Signature: The specified photograph must be taken within the last six months and must include a signature.
  • Scanned Documents: Image Identity proof, category certificate, PwD certificate and Dyslexic certificate in PDF format.
  • Scribe Requirements: Candidates should include any details necessary on using a scribe where necessary.

Step III: Uploading of Documents

After writing the application form, candidates must append scanned documents such as passport photographs and scanned sample signatures. All sections should be fulfilled, and at the end, the candidate should read the entire Application to see if there are some mistakes and remedy them. The following documents must be uploaded according to the specified guidelines:

  • A high-quality image of the candidate's photograph.
  • A good-quality image of the candidate's signature.
  • A scanned copy of a valid photo ID.
  • A PDF copy of the Category (SC/ST) certificate (if applicable).
  • Where applicable, the original or certified true copy of the PwD Certificate is transmitted in Portable Document Format (PDF).
    A PDF copy of the Dyslexic certificate only if the applicant has been diagnosed with dyslexia.

Step IV - Payment of Application Fees

Finally, the candidates must submit their Application and a twenty-five ticket fee. They can check the category-wise for GATE 2025 application fee details. When completing the application form, candidates choosing to pay the registration fee online must click ‘Submit & Proceed to Payment.’ This action will take them to a different webpage that deals with the payment gateway. Payment mode options include Net banking, credit card, debit card and Other Payment Options- (UPI). After the transaction is completed, the candidate will likely be navigated to the GATE 2025 Portal.

Step V: Application Form Submission

After successful payment, candidates will be allocated a unique “Fee Payment Number” they should keep safe. Applicants must read and agree to the statement that has been provided in the last part of the GATE 2025 application form before submitting the exam form. After that they can forward the application form confirming their declaration. However, something not mentioned before is that details cannot be modified once submitted. However, candidates are required to download the GATE 2025 registration form in PDF format after submission for their reference.

How to Add a Secondary Paper after Submitting the GATE 2025 Application Form?

If you have applied for one paper and submitted your GATE 2025 application, you can still add a second paper during the application process. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official GATE website: gate2025.iitr.ac.in.
  2. Click on the application form link on the GOAPS portal.
  3. Log in using your credentials—enrollment ID, password, and captcha.
  4. After logging in, the application status page will appear. An option to add another paper will also be visible. Click on this option and select your GATE Paper II.
  5. Choose the paper, make the payment through any available payment method, and submit the application form. This selection will be considered your GATE Paper II or secondary paper.

GATE 2025 Application Status

GATE 2025 application status shows the status of your application form, i.e. whether it has been submitted successfully. Candidates can check their GATE application form status on the GOAPS portal by following these steps:

  1. Visit the official website: gate2025.iitr.ac.in.
  2. Click on the application link.
  3. Log in using your credentials—Enrollment ID and password.
  4. Once logged in, you will see your name, enrollment ID, and registration form status.

If the information provided in the GATE online form is incorrect, the status will display as "Application Under Scrutiny," indicating that your application is being reviewed. If discrepancies are found, GATE authorities will notify you via the registered email and phone number provided during the application process.

GATE 2025 Application Form Correction

The GATE 2025 application form registration link is now live on the official website. The correction link will be available from 06/11/2024. Applicants who are blocked due to their defective applications will be allowed to make changes regarding their records. After registration, the correction window will be opened for all applicants on the 6th of November in 2024.

Each candidate is advised to understand that the application status will only change after the zonal GATE offices scrutinize them. You can always track the status of your application through your GATE 2025 login credentials account. There are also stringent time limits for prohibiting application defects, and any possible issues must be solved immediately. Candidates are encouraged to regularly log into the Application Portal to check for any updates regarding defects.

How to Modify the Already Filled Details?

Further, the IIT Roorkee will open the Correction Window for candidates to edit any once filled detail. Additional charges will apply for corrections in the bubble, as indicated in the table above. Candidates can follow these steps to make corrections:

Step 1: You can obtain the application from the official website at gate2025.iitr.ac.in; the link is also above.

Step 2: On the homepage, click on the link labelled ‘GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS)’.

Step 3: Enter your credentials, including your password and GOAPS Enrollment ID, and log in.

Step 4: Make the necessary corrections to the application form as instructed.

Step 5: Once changes have been made, enter the information and click on the submit tab.

Because of this, the candidates are advised to download and print the newly submitted application form that will reflect the changes made.

How to Make Changes in the GATE 2025 Paper?

Application of GATE 2025 must know that they can alter the particular papers in their GATE 2025 application form within a certain period. Candidates who wish to take two test papers must provide first and second options. To make changes to the GATE 2025 papers, candidates can follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official GOAP website.
  2. Log in using your GOAPS enrollment ID or email address and password.
  3. Once logged in, you can modify your selections for GATE 2025.
  4. After selecting your preferred subject, click the ‘Submit’ button. After entering the captcha, you will be redirected to the payment page.
  5. Complete the payment for the GATE 2025 application correction and print the revised application form.
