JEE Main 2023 Latest Update

1. Special provision to Tamil Nadu Board Students:

The Government of Tamil Nadu has declared that students who passed their Class 10 boards in 2021 will not need to enter their CGPA or Class 10 marks when applying for higher education. This exemption is because no board examinations were conducted in Tamil Nadu in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

2. Application Fee Raised:

JEE Main has announced a rise in the application fee for JEE Main 2023. Male candidates in the Unreserved category will now have to pay INR 1000 instead of the initial fee of INR 650. This change applies to all categories of applicants. The increased fees are applicable from the current academic session and shall be non-refundable.

3. 75% Marks Criteria Re-introduced:

To be considered for admission to the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and Government Funded Technical Institutions (GFTIs), candidates are now required to have achieved a minimum score of 75% in their Class 12/qualifying examination. For SC/ST candidates, the qualifying mark is 65%.

4. No Application form correction:

Candidates are instructed to fill out the Application Form carefully, as no modifications can be made once the form has been submitted. All applicants should review their information before submitting it to avoid any issues.

5. Choices in One Section:

After careful consideration, it has been decided to include options within certain sections of Papers 1 and Part I of Papers 2A and 2B to accommodate different Board decisions concerning reducing the curriculum. Nevertheless, the total number of questions to be answered shall remain unaltered (Physics - 25, Chemistry - 25, Mathematics - 25) wherever applicable.

6. UMANG and Digilocker App:

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has provided an additional platform to all candidates in the form of UMANG and DigiLocker to access their documents such as Confirmation Page, Admit Card, and Score Cards. This user-friendly platform allows for a secure and efficient way of retrieving crucial examination credentials.
