Since the exam is conducted in different sessions, the difficulty level in the examination also differs; to address this fact, authorities will adopt normalisation. To inform the percentage of candidates/examinees having scores lower or equal to the highest/topper score achieved in a particular JEE Main examination conducted in 2025, NTA will declare the normalised JEE Main 2025 Score. The formula used for the calculation of NTA scores is as follows:
Formula = (100 x number of candidates who sat the exam and scored as of the candidate’s raw score) / number of candidates who sat the exam at that session
Candidates may also realise that the NTA is different from the percentage of marks on the JEE examination.
As with the percentile for individual subjects, the National Testing Agency uses the normalisation formula presented below to compute the combined scores of JEE Main 2025 in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
Total Percentile (T1P) | (100 x No. of candidates from the session with a raw score equal to or less than T1 score) / Total No. of candidates who appeared in the session |
Mathematics Percentile (M1P) | (100 x No. of candidates appeared from the session with a raw score equal to or less than the M1 score in Mathematics) |
Chemistry Percentile (C1P) | (100 x No. of candidates appeared from the session with a raw score equal to or less than C1 score in Chemistry) / Total No. of candidates who appeared in the session |
Physics Percentile (P1P) | (100 x No. of candidates appeared from the session with a raw score equal to or less than P1 score in Physics) / Total No. of candidates who appeared in the session |
Aspirants are often given the same NTA score in the JEE Main outcomes, making two or more contenders equal in this exam. Therefore, the NTA will look for tie-breaker mechanisms in the JEE Main 2025 result to provide different All India rankings. Please see the priority-wise list of subjects as provided to determine a tie in the nta jeemains result of 2025.
NTA follows the subject-wise priority of scores to resolve the tie between candidates obtaining equal NTA JEE Mains 2025 scores in Paper 2: B.Arch.
NTA will be conducting the JEE Main 2025 in January & April month. Therefore, JEE Mains Result 2025 will be declared for each session conducted. NTA JEE Mains result contains the below details:
The NTA will conduct the JEE Main 2025 paper, and the official information set that the NTA is expected to release will include the following table where the NTA has categorised the range of the percentage the students who have appeared in the JEE Main 2025 paper have secured. Candidates appearing for the exam will be allowed to check their official percentile based on the shift appearing from the NTA press release after its uploading. I've shared the same below.

JEE Mains good score candidates looking for the JEE Mains score can refer to the video below. The detailed analysis separates the good marks needed for entrance into IIT’s, NIT’s and IIIT’s respectively.
The students were informed that the National Testing Agency would entertain no re-evaluation/re-check-in of the request about the NTA JEE Main results in 2025. The scorecard filled by candidates with the results of JEE Main 2025 will have no further revisions.
This is where students need help to differentiate between the JEE Main 2025 percentage and percentile, and most students regard them as the same, which are actually two different things. Ranks: JEE Main percentage is calculated by absolute marking, whereas the percentile is calculated by relative marking.
Calculating JEE Main Percentile 2025: Multiply it by 100 and subtract the product so obtained from the total percentage of that session; the result will be the percentage of aggregate marks, the number of candidates in the session with marks less than the candidate’s aggregate marks and the total number of candidates appeared in that session.
NTA may need to find a facility to verify the JEE Main results by name. The candidates will be clear for the NTA IIT JEE Mains result in 2025 through the application no and date of birth/password alone.
The seat matrix released in JEE Mains 2019 will be available on the official website again.
