What is the MH CET Law Exam?

The MH CET Law, also known as the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test for Law, is a state-level entrance exam overseen by the State CET Cell of Maharashtra. It facilitates admissions to law programs in various participating law colleges across the state. The exam is conducted online, lasting two hours, and consists of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Successful candidates are eligible for 11,951 seats in the 5-year LLB program and approximately 16,420 seats for the 3-year LLB program, excluding management quotas.

MH CET Law Eligibility Criteria 2025:

Candidates applying for admission to the 5-year integrated LLB or 3-year LLB programs must meet the specified MH CET Law eligibility criteria for their chosen course and secure the required marks in the MH CET Law entrance exam. Suppose candidates submit an application for the 3-year or 5-year LLB programs but need to meet the eligibility criteria. In that case, their application will be rejected, and they may still need to receive their admit card for the entrance exam. Therefore, aspirants should only submit the MH CET Law application for the course they are eligible for.

MH CET Law 2025 5-year LLB Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants for the 5-year integrated LLB program through MH CET Law must meet the following requirements:

  • Candidates must be Indian citizens.
  • They must have passed the Senior Secondary School Examination/ Intermediate Examination/ 12th Board Examination from a recognized educational institution under the state or national board of education.
  • A minimum of 45% aggregate marks is required in the qualifying exam.
  • For candidates belonging to the SC/ST category of Maharashtra state, the minimum required marks are 40%, as per the relaxation in aggregate marks. Candidates from the VJNT, SBC, and OBC categories in Maharashtra need a minimum of 42% to be eligible for the MH CET Law 2025 exam for the 5-year LLB program.
  • Candidates must be at least 20 years old at the time of admission. The minimum age requirement for candidates from the OBC, SC, and ST categories in Maharashtra is 22.

MH CET Law 3-Year LLB Eligibility Criteria 2025:

  • Candidates must have successfully completed a graduation exam in any discipline.
  • Those appearing for their final qualifying exams during the admission year are also eligible to apply.
  • General category candidates from both Maharashtra and outside must possess a bachelor's degree with at least 45% marks.
  • SC/ST candidates from Maharashtra must have a minimum aggregate score of 40% in their undergraduate degree.
  • Candidates from VJNT, SBC, and OBC categories need a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 42% marks.

  • Candidates taking the law entrance exam must arrive at their assigned test centre at least one hour before the scheduled exam time.

This scorecard is expected to be available for download approximately one month after the exam concludes. Steps to Check MH CET Law Result 2025?

The process for downloading the MH CET Law scorecard for both the 5-year LLB and 3-year LLB programs is the same. Follow these steps to access your MH CET Law results for 2025:

  1. Visit the CET Cell Maharashtra website at cetcell.mahacet.org.
  2. Log in to the Candidate Portal using your registered email ID and password.
  3. Navigate to the "Score Card" tab and click on it.

MH CET Law Counselling 2025

The MH CET Law counselling process, referred to as the Centralized Admission Process (CAP), is conducted online separately for the 3-year and 5-year LLB programs. For the 3-year LLB program, there are 147 participating institutes with a total seat intake of 16,420. The 5-year LLB program offers 10,920 seats across 132 approved colleges.

Here's a brief overview of the MHCET Law 2025 counselling process:

  1. Registration: Eligible candidates must register online for counselling, select their preferred colleges, and pay the counselling fee.
  2. Document Verification: The admission committee will electronically verify the uploaded documents and the information provided in the application form. Only candidates who complete this verification will proceed to the next step.
  3. Publication of Alphabetical Merit List: A merit list will be released containing the names of candidates shortlisted for counselling and seat allocation.
  4. Submission of Grievances: Candidates who have objections to the merit list may submit their grievances for review.
  5. Publication of Final Merit List: The final merit list will be published after any corrections to the provisional list based on candidate objections are addressed.
  6. Allotment of Seats: Seats will be allocated based on two factors: the candidate's MH CET Law 2025 merit rank and the college preferences indicated during counselling registration.

Please note that there will be two rounds of CAP. The respective law colleges will fill any remaining vacant seats at the institutional level after these rounds.
