A sister college to the aforementioned, under the SVKM trust; Narsee Monjee (N.M.) College of Commerce and Economics was founded in 1964. It offers various courses in the field of Commerce. The college has one of the best infrastructures available in the city.

4. Jai Hind College

Jai Hind College, established in 1948 at Churchgate, is a public, autonomous college, has both aided and unaided courses in all the three core streams. It has a prominent location and has several alumni in the Entertainment sector of India.

5. Kishinchand Chellaram (K.C.) College of Arts, Science and Commerce

K.C. College of Arts, Science and Commerce, established in 1954, also located at Churchgate, is a government college. Notable alumni from this college can be found in the technological and health care industry.

6. H.R. College of Commerce and Economics

H.R. College of Commerce and Economics stands adjacent to the previously mentioned K.C. College. It was founded in 1960, offering education in the stream of commerce.  The college has contributed heavily to Entertainment and Business Industry.

8. Ramnarain Ruia College of Arts & Science

Ramnarain Ruia College of Arts & Science, also situated at Matunga, established in 1937, has its motto “Explore – Experience – Excel,” which depicts its research culture. It attracts students from all parts of Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and even Thane.

9. Sophia College for Women

This was established in 1940 at Cumballa Hill, offers education to women in all the 3 streams with various courses. You must have seen this college in various Indian daily soaps and movies!

10. K.J. Somaiya College

This was established as an autonomous college, founded in 1959 at Vidya Vihar, has one of the largest and lush green campuses in the city. It offers excellent education in all the 3 streams.

All these colleges are not only UGC and University of Mumbai recognized but also NAAC accredited. These colleges also provide hostel, gym, canteen, laboratory, and library facilities. These colleges have various alumni who are doing exceptionally well in their respective fields. Most of these colleges are co-ed as well as having excellent faculty. Most of the colleges have received awards for various categories.

The colleges have their admission process online as well offline. In addition, many of these colleges have reserved quotas for linguistic and religious minorities, SC, ST, OBC, etc. Since the cut-offs are usually very high, seats are offered only on merit basis.
