Students who wish to pursue their secondary education at a college or university in the 2023-24 academic year must complete both FYJC Admission Form 1 and FYJC Admission Form 2. How to fill FYJC Admission Form?

FYJC Application Part 1:

  • Students can Purchase an information booklet from their school. 
  • Read all the information carefully and then fill out the form.
  • Students and parents can visit their school in order to understand the exact admission procedure.
  • Find the login ID and password. 
  • Visit the official website. 
  • Enter the login ID and password, which are mentioned in the booklet for the first login 
  • Change the password and keep it secure for further logins.
  • Add security questions. Students can also take a hard copy of all the login credentials and security questions.
  • Read the instructions and all the steps.
  • Fill in all the details carefully in the space provided.
  • Confirm application. Visit the school or guidance centre for all the issues & concerns and get the application form and documents approved. Approval of the application form is very important, so only you can proceed further.

FYJC Application Part 2:

  • In the "Option Form," applicants must choose their college by the stream.
  • Make sure the form is correct.
  • Get a copy of the references from the application form. 

(The application fee/processing fee for admission is Rs.250/- in Mumbai and Rs.150/- in other parts of the country)

FYJC Admission Process

There is no entrance exam or interview to get into a junior college. The only thing that matters is how well a candidate did on the Class X exam (SSC). After the SSC results are announced, the organising authority will display the first merit. Candidates whose names will be on the list will have to get into the college given to them.

Those who don't get seats in the first round must use their options for the following rounds.

The official SESD (School Education & Sports Department) portal will have all the latest information about the release of the merit list, cut-off list, seat allocation, etc. So, candidates are encouraged to check the official website often.

  • 3 window envelopes with stamps (Rs.30/-) affixed to it.
  • Qualifying Exam mark sheet of SSC (Class X) or equivalent
  • Original SSC School Leaving Certificate.
  • Proof of local address for correspondence.

Merit List & Cut-off List:

SESD will display the merit and cut-off lists based on how well each candidate did on the SSC exam. There is a different cut-off list for each school. After each round, a cut-off list for each college is posted on the official site on the given dates. 

FCFS Policy

SESD has made First Come, First Serve (FCFS) the rule for FYJC. Students who can't get seats in any of the rounds can use this policy to apply. FCFS was made so that these kinds of applicants could get in. 

Points to note down during FYJC Admission

  • No interview or entrance test is conducted for FYJC admission.
  • Applicants must select a maximum of 10 preferred colleges.
  • Seats in colleges are given to students based on their merit, their preferences and choices, and any reservation policies that are in place.
  • SESD has set up guidance centres in all the zones and districts of the state where candidates can go if they have any questions about admission. The official admissions prospectus or online portal will have all the information about guidance centres.
