About XAT Exam

XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test) is an MBA Entrance level exam conducted in order to get admission into XLRI. The aspirants planning to appear in the upcoming XAT exam must check all the details, including exam dates, registration, eligibility, exam pattern, syllabus, and more.

Registration is now ongoing on the XLRI official website. The aspirants who are thinking of appearing in XAT 2023 should first complete the registration before 30th November 2022. XAT 2023 notification was released on 9th August 2022 by XLRI on its official website. As per the latest update, the XAT exam is to be held on 8th January, 2023.

XAT Eligibility Criteria

The applicants who are aiming at XAT Exam 2023 must check the XAT Eligibility before registering for the exam. The XAT Exam includes educational qualifications, nationality, and age limit. Go through the following points in order to know the exact XAT exam eligibility.

  • The candidate must have completed 3 years of Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from any recognised university in India
  • Candidates in the final year of their Bachelor’s degree are also eligible to appear for the XAT exam.  
  • Working professionals and individuals with professional degrees (CA, CS, CMA, etc.) are also eligible to apply.
  • There is no upper age limit for XAT; candidates can apply for the exam irrespective of their ages.
  • XAT eligibility requirement for foreign candidates and NRI is that they can apply through their GMAT score.

Essay Writing Test - No weightage 

Essay writing in XAT is a test that measures an aspirant's writing ability.

Essay topics might be current or abstract, such as 'Technology and nature are natural adversaries' or 'Red is Blue.'

The test taker is required to write an essay on one topic, although sometimes there is an option between two themes and other times there is no choice at all.

After the shortlisting process is completed, the essays are evaluated based on the scores received in the Part-1 sections.
